Peer-Review
All scientific article manuscripts submitted to the Amur Medical Journal undergo double-blind peer review to maintain the journal's high scientific and theoretical standards and to select the most relevant and promising research. To ensure accuracy and transparency, each step of the peer review process is fully documented and recorded in the journal's database.
Scientific material received from the author undergoes an initial review within 7 business days for completeness, correct formatting, and originality. If necessary, articles are sent back for revision at the editor's request or rejected.
After passing the initial review, the article is sent for peer review. The review process and decision on publication/rejection takes three months.
Reviewers may include members of the journal's editorial board and editorial council, as well as specialists with professional knowledge and experience in a specific scientific field, typically doctors of medical sciences, professors, and leading researchers from relevant institutions. All reviewers must be recognized experts in the subject matter of the materials being reviewed and have published publications on the topic of the article within the last three years.
The reviewer cannot be the author or co-author of the work being reviewed.
Reviewers treat the article as confidential material, strictly observing the author's right to non-disclosure of the information contained in the article until publication.
The reviewer evaluates the article's compliance with the scientific profile of the journal, its relevance, originality, degree of novelty, theoretical and practical significance, the presence of conclusions and recommendations, and compliance with established formatting rules.
The reviewer must provide an expert opinion (review) within 30 days of receiving the manuscript. The review must contain precise wording that clearly demonstrates the material's compliance with the requirements. Based on the review's results, the scientific article may be either rejected, returned to the authors for revision, or accepted for publication.
A scientific article requiring revision is sent to the author along with the reviewer's and editor's comments. The author must make all necessary corrections and return the revised text to the editor within 14 days. Returning the article later than this will change its publication date.
After revision, the scientific article is reviewed again, and a decision is made on publication. If the author disagrees with the reviewer's comments, the author has the right to submit a reasoned objection to the editorial board within 5 business days.
The author's objections must be reviewed by the editorial board within 10 days. If necessary, at the author's insistence, the manuscript may be reviewed by another reviewer.
The reviewer is responsible for ensuring that the articles reviewed by him/her and recommended for publication comply with the criteria for scientific publications.
Reviews of each scientific article are stored by the editorial board of the Amur Medical Journal for 5 years from the date of publication of the printed edition in which the reviewed work was published, and copies of reviews are required to be sent to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request by the editorial board.
